Forum Europa
A forum that contributes to the debate on the present and the future of the European Union
On the occasion of the Spanish presidency of the European Union (January 2002 - June 2002), Nueva Economía Fórum created Fórum Europa, a forum with a clear purpose to become an "observer" of the proceedings of said presidency, and to contribute to the debate about the present and the future of the EU.
A typical event takes places at the Hotel Ritz in Madrid over breakfast, in a format similar to a "press conference" that includes a Question & Answer session with the press. The audience consists of a well-balanced mix of economic and political representatives (50%) and the national press (50%).
Some of our guest speakers have been: Antonio Vitorino, European Commissionaire for Justice and Home Affairs; Javier Solana, Secretary-General of the Council and High Representative for CFSP; Josep Piqué, Spanish Minister of Science and Technology and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, and others.
Fórum Europa has continued its activities with the customary format of a biweekly breakfast-conference around issues and speakers of the utmost interest.
